Retaining Washers feature four internal fins, which grip the thread of a fasteners, creating a self-retaining fastening. Retaining Washers are designed for use with Accu's Captive Screws. The combination of Captive Screw and Retaining Washer creates a lightweight and cost-effective locking solution for safety applications.

These components can also be used alongside standard Precision Screws, and are particularly useful for creating Screw and Washer pre-assemblies.

This product is a light-duty and reusable solution to screw captivation, if a more robust and permanent fastening is required, Accu's Captive Washers may be more suitable.

Materials

Retaining Washers are manufactured from lightweight Nylon 66 as standard. Nylon 66 is durable and flexible, allowing for snap-on installation.

Metric Retaining Washers

Nylon Retaining Washers are available to suit metric thread diameters of between M3 and M12 as standard, with additional sizes available on request.
