I Keep Seeing Accu Ads, How Do I Opt Out Of Them?.

Take Control: Opting Out of Personalized Advertising

Our approach to advertising is to be as helpful as possible – aiming to show you our products at the right time and place when they're most relevant to your needs. However, we understand that the algorithms used by major digital advertising platforms can sometimes feel a little too targeted. If you'd prefer not to see personalized ads, you may be able to opt out.

How to Opt Out on Key Platforms

Google Ads: To stop seeing personalized ads from Google, you can find clear instructions on their support page: Google Support: Opt out of seeing personalised ads.

Microsoft Ads: Microsoft serves personalized ads across its services (like Windows, Xbox, MSN, Outlook.com).

    • Microsoft Account Ad Settings: Visit your Microsoft account's privacy dashboard and look for "Personalized ads & offers." You can manage these settings directly here: Microsoft Account - Personalized ads & offers. You can turn off the setting that allows Microsoft to show you personalized ads based on data collected from your use of their services.

    • Ads in Outlook.com (including Hotmail accounts): If you use Outlook.com (which includes all former Hotmail accounts), while some ads are tied to the personalized ad settings above, for specific information on how to remove or manage ads within Outlook.com, you can find details here: Microsoft Support - Remove ads in Outlook.com.

    • Windows Settings: For ads within Windows itself (e.g., in the Start Menu, Lock Screen, or notifications), you can adjust privacy settings:

      • Go to Settings > Privacy > General and disable options related to advertising ID.

      • In Settings > Personalization > Start, turn off "Occasionally show suggestions in Start."

      • In Settings > Personalization > Lock screen, turn off "Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows and Cortana on your lock screen."
