Discover more about the External Circlips range.
External Circlips, also known as C-Clips or Seeger Rings, have a variety of applications, but are commonly used as retaining components. The clip is installed onto a shaft to prevent lateral movement of any parts connected to the shaft, or of the shaft itself.
When connected to a shaft, an External Circlip can also be inserted into a cut or groove to create a lightweight and compact fastening. Circlips are also commonly used alongside Bearings, and can be used as spacers or retaining rings for Gears.
External Circlips are stretched around a shaft using specialist circlip tooling, such as an external circlip plier, and due to their slight flexibility can accommodate shafts slightly larger than their own internal diameter. A tight fit is recommended to ensure that components are securely retained.
Manufactured to the DIN 471 standard, with internal diameters from 2.7mm up to 142mm, our External Circlips are suitable for use with a wide range of shaft diameters.
